Levelling

We decided to take “the use of the Internet” as our main topic to work with.

Firstly pupils had to research their families, friends, etc usage through a survey we had made before. The information they came up with was analyzed and  and summarized. Secondly, we discussed about the use of social nets and reflected about negative and positive aspects of them.

Thirdly we introduced the idea of creating a rumor using the media and its consequences. They learnt about Orson Wells`case during the 1940`s. Then the children thought about their own rumors posted in the web and their consequences.

Finally they presented all this to their parents: the survey results, the articles they had read about the social nets, their opinions about them, the rumors they created. Parents got involved in this debate and created a new “scandal” with their kids.

Everybody had a great time and our Levelling students could use English as a meaningful tool.
